What if training could talk back?

We're exploring the next evolution of capability building with AI Role-Play Simulations. Working with Centrical, we're developing new ways for learners to move beyond simply learning about AI — giving them realistic opportunities to practise, demonstrate and receive immediate feedback on their skills. Here's an early look at what we're building and why we're excited about its potential.

At Paragon, we’re working with Centrical on the next evolution of our Catalyst capability-building approach: AI Role-Play Simulations.

And we're starting with one of the biggest capability challenges facing organisations right now: AI skills.

Traditional learning can teach someone about AI. A role-play can put them in a realistic situation and ask them to prove they can actually use what they've learned.

Imagine completing an AI learning campaign and then entering a simulation where an AI persona challenges your thinking, asks follow-up questions and responds dynamically to your decisions.

There's no multiple-choice answer to select.

You have to think, respond and demonstrate the skill.

Once the simulation is complete, AI can evaluate the interaction against defined criteria, provide a score, identify strengths and development areas, and give the learner immediate feedback. Managers can then see where capability is developing — and where further coaching may be needed.

For us, this opens up some exciting possibilities.

We're currently developing simulations that will sit inside our AI capability programmes, giving learners a safe environment to practise skills before applying them in the real world.

And importantly: we're still building.

We're experimenting with scenarios, evaluation criteria and how role-play can fit into the wider Catalyst experience. The objective isn't to add AI because it's fashionable. It's to solve one of corporate learning's oldest problems:

How do you move from "I completed the training" to "I can actually do this"?

We think AI Role-Play Simulations could become an important part of that answer.

More soon.
